Prior to Wendy O.'s suicide in 1998, she attempted to kill herself two times before: Once in 1997 with an overdose of ephedrine and once in 1993 by hammering a knife into her chest. She lodged the knife into her sternum before changing her mind. OUCH! RIP Wendy O.
The Mats get Ejected
The Replacements' first gig was in June of 1980 at an alcohol-free coffee-house in the basement of a Minneapolis church. They were so nervous that they got drunk on whiskey-and-Cokes--and took some pills. When someone smelled alcohol on their breath, they were thrown out of the building and told they'd never play Minneapolis again!

Dino gets Sued!
When the group formed, Dinosaur Jr. was originally called "Dinosaur" but later had to add the "Jr." after being sued by the supergroup The Dinosaurs which included members of Country Joe and the Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Hot Tuna, Grateful Dead, and Jefferson Airplane.
Straight-Edge and Meth?!
In addition to being one of the most influential and best straight-edge/hardcore bands of the late 80's, the term "gorilla biscuits" was also 80's street slang, originally referring to meth pills or quaaludes.
